Dear AppGuard users,

our development team has decided to discontinue the development of the SRT AppGuard. The further development costs time and energy, which we would like to invest in new projects in order to be able to continue to offer you good products in the future.

The SRT AppGuard is still usable on all Android versions from 2.3 to 4.4. All other versions of Android are officially not supported and support is discontinued. With the discontinuation of further development, there will be no updates and bug fixes in the future. Our support is still available to all owners of the app who use versions 2.3 to 4.4.

Since the introduction of the SRT AppGuard, we have enjoyed the development of the app and also the cooperation with you has always been a pleasure. Therefore, the entire Backes SRT team would like to thank you for your loyalty for many years. In this sense: Until the next app!

The current beta version of SRT AppGuard (2.4beta5) introduces a new feature that allows you to disable the transmission of crash reports, furthermore we were able to improve the monitoring of api calls that access location information.

Unfortunately, we were not able to establish a complete support of 64bit architectures. For this reason we currently can not announce any official support for Android 5.x/6.x. In the settings of SRT AppGuard it is possible to completely disable the monitoring of all apps, such that the monitored apps can be used with all their permissions.

Unfortunately, SRT AppGuard is currently not compatible with the latest version of Android (5.1). We are working hard to restore the compatibility in one of the upcoming versions. Currently we can not provide any time estimate for the next update.

Thank you for understanding and patience.

The last beta version of the SRT AppGuard (2.3beta4) was not fully compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S5. The new beta version of SRT AppGuard addresses these problems and improves the compatibility with these devices.

To be notified of new beta versions as soon as possible, the update channel can be changed to “Beta” in the settings of SRT AppGuard.

In this beta version it is no longer possible to deactivate the monitoring of all apps.

In the last beta version of SRT AppGuard the uninstallation was started while updating a monitored app, even though this was not absolutely necessary. We fixed this error in the current beta version of SRT AppGuard.

With the support of Clemens (one of our beta testers) we have just completed a third beta version. Thank you for the helpful and detailed information, Clemens.

This version is a first step to support the Samsung S5. Some apps should already be monitorable and running again. At least with the Facebook app (and potentially other apps) there are currently still some problems. We are working further to find a solution, but this can not yet be assessed over time.

For major problems, it should now be possible again to disable monitoring of all apps in the settings of SRT AppGuard completely. The monitored Apps will then start with all their required permissions and are not monitored.

After long and hard work, we have finally managed to restore compatibility between SRT AppGuard and Android 5.0 Lollipop. Many thanks at this point to Marvin who has created the basics for a successful monitoring on Android 5.

For all Lollipop users we release the beta version (2.3beta1), so that SRT AppGuard can be used under Lollipop again. To install the beta version the apk file should be downloaded directly on the device and be installed over the existing version of SRT AppGuard.

Download (Version 2.3beta1)

Due to the changes in Android Lollipop SRT AppGuard is not compatible with Android 5.0. We try to solve this problem and provide an update for SRT AppGuard as soon as possible.

If you have not yet upgraded your device, we recommend to wait with the update, since otherwise any monitored app will not start anymore.

In the meantime, we provide an update for SRT AppGuard (2.2.7). This version allows to disable the monitoring of all apps in the settings. This makes it possible to use the apps (but with all their required permissions).
